The story behind this image

While staying at Lake Como in the Italian mountains for a couple of weeks' holiday, my wife Liz and I took the opportunity to have a look at the many towns that dotted the lake shore.

A drive north along the lakeside road from our apartment at Verenna brought us to the pretty little town of Dorio

Much quieter than the popular tourist hotspots, this view shows the magnificent scenery on offer from the Dorio waterfront.
