The story behind this image

While staying at Lake Como in the Italian mountains for a couple of weeks' holiday, my wife Liz and I took the opportunity to have a look at the many towns that dotted the lake shore.

Right at the northern end of Lake Como is the little town of Domaso.

Much quieter than the popular tourist hotspots further south, I spotted this old, weatherbeaten door while wandering around the backstreets.

Filters - Polarising filter used to reduce glare and enhance colours.

Conversion - Adobe Lightroom

Comments - High ISO used to allow handheld exposure.
