Low grey cloud, a cold wind and a soaking drizzle. A typical summer's day in the north of Iceland, close to the artic circle.
This is Isafjordur, the second, and wettest, stop on our cruise around Iceland on board the P&O liner Azura.
To be honest, Liz and I didn't even venture off the ship here, preferring to keep warm and dry instead.
But I did venture outside to use the height of the eighteen deck vessel to take the overlapping still images required to make this panoramic collage, stitched together later in Abode Lightroom.
Despite the inclement weather, I rather like this final image with its pervading atmosphere of darkness and gloom, coupled with the almost unreal degree of symmetry formed by the sides of the fjord.
This was the only still photo I took during our stop at Isafjordur.
However, I did venture out when we left, and spent a chilly hour up at the stern of the ship shooting frames for my time lapse video of our sail up the fjord and out into the Atlantic Ocean.
