Wow! The third and final destination on our cruise around Iceland on board the P&O liner Azura, and is that a patch of sunlight on the landscape?!
After three days of unremitting grey I seized on any variation in the lighting conditions like a hungry shark would seize on a wounded fish, and went into a photographic feeding frenzy from the upper decks of the ship as gorgeous patches of sunlight and shadow played across the Eyjafjordur and town of Akureyri where we were berthed for the day.
Those patches of light, together with a dramatic cloudscape, transformed the landscape in to a visual wonderland of rock, ice, sea and snow that just cried out for a wide panoramic perspective to show it in all its glory.
So with the unique view that comes from being on the top deck of a huge ship, and with tripod firmly wedged on the walkway I was able to take the multiple overlapping exposures need for this final view.
Of, course, I took dozens of other images of this wonderful view while the light lasted, but that's another story.
