Every year in early summer at Llandudno, on the North Wales coast, there's a Victorian extravaganza which includes a range of old time fairground rides.
This is a great opportunity to take some slightly more unusual shots than those normally associated with this part of the world, with bold colours and graphic designs seemingly everywhere the eye turns.
My preference, when photographing these rides, is to go for an abstract feel, emphasisng colour and form by excluding all unnecessary detail. A polarising filter helps here in removing glare from painted surfaces and giving the look of a child's painting, made up of solid blocks of colour generously applied to the canvas of the imagination.
