One freezing cold winter's day my wife Liz and I were out and about in Snowdonia, North Wales, enjoying (for want of a better word) a bracing hike up around Llyn Idwal.
We'd just about had enough of the gloomy conditions when this army helicopter arrived on what looked like a training exersize, involving lots of exciting low flying and touch and go landings.
Fortunately I'd decided to bring my camera on this hike so I was able to grab a series of handheld snapshots as the helicopter zoomed past.
Of the ten or so photos that I took, this one had the most dramatic look, bringing out the speed and menace of the machine as it flew by at almost head height.
