The recently developed Victoria Dock at Caernarfon on the North Wales coast is a lovely place to stroll around in the cool of the evening.
My wife Liz and I had just emerged from a dockside restaurant, the sun had gone down about half an hour previously and there wasn't a breath of wind to ruffle the calm waters of the marina as I set up camera, tripod and all the other paraphenalia that goes with taking a photo in low light.
This was one instance when my cumbersome DSLR setup scored heavily over Liz's smartphone camera, as a thirty second exposure was needed to capture the full beauty of the scene before us, with the yachts lining up very nicely to point the way to the harbour masters office on the dock wall.
