Very early on a summer's morning on the beach at Abersoch.
The tide was coming in rapidly and I'd just finished shooting the stills for my Sunrise at Abersoch time lapse video.
Under the flat calm, the sea was like a sheet of beaten copper, reflecting the cloud-veiled sun overhead.
The scene was so beautiful that I couldn't just tear myself away, no matter how tempting the thought of a bacon butty back at my daughter's caravan was becoming.
So I re-positioned myself a few feet to the right and composed this final scene, using the groynes (don't you just love 'em) as a leading line to guide the viewer's eye through the image up to the sun in the upper right third of the frame.
A slowish shutter speed allowed the water to just smooth slightly, enhancing the reflections and helping to convey the mood of peace and tranquility that was mine, alone on the beach.
