Not easy to find, this is part of the Grey Mare's Tail waterfall on the Nant Gwydyr river, hidden away in woodlands just half a mile or so from the bustling market town of Llanrwst on the border of the Snowdonia National Park in North Wales.
It seems that, no matter how many times my wife Liz and I set out to explore this beautiful area, there is always something new to find and enjoy.
This was the first time we'd ever seen this waterfall, having driven past the easy to miss opening to the National Trust car park on many occasions on our way through to the cosmopolitan delights of Betws-y-Coed.
In fact, we only found this wonderful, hidden and secluded spot thanks to a post by Thomas Griffin on the North Wales Photography Facebook Group.
I wonder how many more hidden gems we can uncover on our North Wales exploring days!
