Right in the middle of the island of Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands there are two large volcanic rock formations that were marked as tourist attractions on the road map that Liz and I used during our holiday there.
The Rogue Bentayga and the Roque Nublo.
We visited them both during our stay, taking many, many photos of course!
One of the most impressive views we saw was this panorama, as viewed from the Patrimonio Arquelogico Bentayga at the base of Roque Bentayga and looking nominally south out over the town of Tejeda and with the impressive Roque Nublo punctuating the horizon in the far distance.
I went a little crazy shooting images here, as the sun was close to setting and the low angled light was picking out details and contours in the mountains that would have been washed out earlier in the day.
So I shot dozens of frames, both for later use in panoramic stitches such as this one, and as stand-alone images as well.
This particular panorama is made from twenty seven seperate exposures, giving me an absoloutely huge final image with an incredible level of detail that has to be seen to be believed.
