This dessicated landscape is typical of the Spain that you only get to see if you make the effort to drive inland from the coast.
My wife Liz and I are on our way from Marbella on the south coast of Spain, up to Alora, a medieval town in the heart of Andalucia, for no better reason that to see what this part of Spain looks like.
Well, this image is typical of the region, which is pretty close to being a desert.
In taking this photo, and in subsequent post-processing, I have attempted to convey a sense of the heat and dryness that were the overwhelming features of this landscape.
Nothing like my usual haunts around North Wales!
