Is this the most famous statue in the world?
Standing in the Piazza della Signoria in Florence, Italy, this is actually a copy of the definitive work by Michaelangelo.
The original is safely indoors in the Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts - fair enough I say - and the reproduction is very impressive in its own right.
My only issue is with the statue's placement against the wall of the Palazzo Vecchio, which makes it very difficult to take a meaningful photo without distracting background stonework and signs.
I gave it my best shot, and with a bit of tonality and saturation adjustment in PhotoShop I was able to create this image, in which the statue stands out reasonably well against the palace wall.
