The city of Florence is justly recognised as a showcase for Italy's historical art, and everywhere you go there seems to be something that catches your eye.
Liz and I spotted this quirky little sculpture of two water nymphs fighting in the basin of a pool in the Boboli Gardens to the south of the river Arno.
The placement of the sculpture in the pool, resulting in a perfect reflection in the still water, was too good to resist so we spend a happy few minutes here while I tried to make the best ccomposed photo possible.
The bright marble set against the dark water caused me some exposure problems, and in the end I needed to under expose the scene by one stop to prevent the water nymphs becoming just a whited out shape with no detail.
Still, all in all, a charming and unexpected treat.
