The golden light of a late Autumn afternoon splashes across the historical city of Florence, capital of the Tuscany region of Italy, as the Arno flows like a river of molten chocolate past ochre hued buildings.
I'm waxing lyrical, and with good reason, as Liz and I walk around one of the most beautiful places we've visited for some time.
I don't know why but the light here is this part of Italy seems to have a gentle, enveloping quality that just relaxes the heart and mind and slows you down to a more contemplative pace of life.
I like it.
