The Pitti Palace on the south bank of the river Arno is one of the foremost and well known art galleries in Florence, and Liz and I spent a day there exploring during our short break in Tuscany.
Although the artwork was nice, I was much more interested in the buildings and gardens, such as this junnction between two walls, with the faded warm colours and shuttered windows just so typical of Tuscany.
So often it's the little details in a photo that brings out the ambiance of a scene, and make the connection between image and place.
