My wife Liz and I were entranced by this view out over Florence, featuring, of course, the huge Duomo that dominates the city's skyline.
We were enjoying an ice cream at the Bardini Gardens tea rooms to the south of the river Arno, just taking in those views as sunlight and shadow played across the scene in front of us.
At the front of the terrace where we were sitting were these two statues, typical of the lovely artwork and sculptures that you find around every corner in the most beautiful of places.
I haven't been able to find out who these two statues actually represent. If you know then please drop me an email at howie@gohowie.com and enlighten me.
Thanks very much.
