The Pitti Palace on the south bank of the river Arno is one of the foremost and well known art galleries in Florence, and Liz and I spent a day there exploring during our short break in Tuscany.
Although the artwork was nice, I was much more interested in the buildings and gardens, with lovely views out over the city itself and the famous Duomo, pictured here.
Visiting in Autumn, there was a gentle warmth to the quality of the sunlight striking the walls of the palace and the city beyond, which was most attractive and calming to the soul.
This image manages to convey just a hint of that warmth, but I would really recommend a visit in person.
