Continuing with our tour around inland Spain, we took a day out to drive from Marbella to visit a town calles Cesares.
In the guide book, Cesares is described as one of the most picturesque 'Puebla Blancas' (white villages) in the region, and, having looked around it, I certainly wouldn't disagree.
Problem - How do you photograph a white village under a blazing midday sun and clear blue sky? I tried but didn't manage to take a photo that rose above a snapshot of the place. Ideally we would have stayed until dusk but we had other plans for the evening that didn't involve driving across Spain in the dark.
However, as we were driving away from Cesares these amazing storm clouds suddenly built up over the mountains, giving a superbly dramatic backdrop to the white patchwork of buildings, spread over the receding hills.
Add an old fence and dried grasses to the foreground and voila - a great photo of Cesares that I wasn't expecting to get!
