The town of Dungarvan, on the southwest coast of County Waterford, Ireland, was just one of the many lovely places that Liz and I visited during our week long exploration of this dramatic Atlantic shore.
Weather was mixed during our visit, with rapidly moving banks of rain clouds scudding across the sky, interspersed with patches of bright sunlight.
Just great for photography, so long as you're quick to catch the transient lighting conditions.
Which made shooting the overlapping frames for this panoramic collage of the complete length of Dungarvan harbour quite challenging, as I would start a sequence of exposures with all the buildings lit by bright sunshine, only to find that the clouds had moved on by the time I reached the far end and everything had gone dark.
This happened a couple of times, and I had to wait patiently in-between each attempt for the sunlight to come back over the entire scene.
Eventually, on the third attempt I managed to catch full sunlight on all the foreground elements by dint of some rapid sideways tracking and shooting, only just finishing the full sequence of frames in time before the shadows moved in again.
Such a lovely place though, and well worth a bit of patience and effort to photograph in the best possible light.
