This stunning view overlooking the historical coastal town of Dubrovnik in Croatia is composed of three separate images, stitched together in PhotoShop CS5.
There are times when a single frame just can't do justice to a scene, and this was one of them.
Liz and I spent a very hot day in Dubrovnik during our summer holiday cruise around the Mediterranean, and as well as walking the streets we took the newly installed cable car up to the viewpoint above the town.
Well I'm certainly glad we made the effort as we were just blown away by this view.
One of the problems with a cruise holiday is that you usually arrive at a place well after sunrise, and leave well before sunset so you don't get to see these amazing locations during photographers 'happy hour'.
However in this case the high overhead sun was a good thing, in that it brought out the beautiful aquamarine colours of the sea which contrasted so vividly against the red rooftops and pale grey walls of the town itself.
My only problem in getting these images was finding a place to take photos that didn't include the cable car station and pylons or was blocked by trees, and I had to hike back down the mountain quite a ways (and back up again afterwards) till I was happy with the composition.
