One of the aspects of going on a cruise that I really look forward to is sailing into a beautiful port at sunrise. Not only do you get to see the landscape at the best time of day, but you also get a unique viewpoint from the high decks of a large cruise liner that you can't get any other way.
Hence sunrise found me, camera in hand along with a few other die hard photographers, high up on deck 10 of the P&O liner Arcadia as she (it?) sailed into port at the historical town of Dubrovnik on the Croatian coast.
However, our first sight of Dubrovnik wasn't the ancient walled city, but the much more recent Franjo Tuđman suspension bridge. A stunning piece of architecture and the most expensive bridge in Croatia.
Sillhouetted against the rising sun, and framed by mountains the bridge just looked great and made for a great start to a great day's visit.
