It's late afternoon on a beautiful day in early spring, and my wife Liz and I are out enjoying the fresh, clean sea air on the North Wales coast at Deganwy.
A stroll along the promenade at Deganwy is one of our favourite modes of relaxation, especially on a day like this with the late afternoon sun casting its golden rays over the coastal scenery.
As a matter of course I've got my trusty Canon camera slung over my shoulder, with more than half an eye out for any interesting views to photograph.
One thing I'll always make an effort to include in a photograph is the colour red, one of the strongest colours in the spectrum and guaranteed to grab attention.
So when we arrived at this red plastic lifebelt holder, positively glowing in the low angled sunlight, it was a no brainer for me to photograph it, casting a shadow on the wall behind.
My only issue was watching out for blown highlights on my camera's histogram, especially the red channel, understandably!
