One of the 'must visit' places on our list of things to see and do during the two week stay my wife Liz and I enjoyed on the Mediterranean island of Crete was the fascinating island of Spinalonga.
Spinalonga proved to be every bit as interesting as promised, with one of the many enjoyable aspects of the visit being the ride out in the small ferry boat from the seaside village of Plaka.
The little ferry itself proved very photogenic, moored to the seafront at Plaka, bobbing up and down in the shallow azure waters of the Mediterranean with Spinalonga in the background.
So, of course, I had to take a photo or two as we walked back to our car for the journey back to our resort.
