During our two week explore around the eastern half of the Mediterranean island of Crete in September 2017 my wife Liz and I made only one visit to most of the places we saw.
However, there were just a few locations that we made two or three visits to, as they were so lovely.
The seaside village of Mochlos, on the northeastern coast, was one such place.
A relatively undeveloped spot, right by the sea, with lovely views both around the seafront and out towards a small island just offshore, dotted with Minoan ruins.
This colourful little fishing boat was used to ferry people to and fro the island, but when not in use it was moored in the tiny harbour, seemingly floating in space on the clear, azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea, with the mountains of central Crete in the background.
