During our two week explore around the eastern half of the Mediterranean island of Crete in September 2017 my wife Liz and I made only one visit to most of the places we saw.
However, there were just a few locations that we made two or three visits to, as they were so lovely.
The seaside village of Mochlos, on the northeastern coast, was one such place.
A relatively undeveloped spot, right by the sea, with lovely views both around the seafront and out towards a small island just offshore, dotted with Minoan ruins.
Walking along the beachside path I came across this beached fishing boat, its vibrant colours glowing in the bright sun and set beautifully against a twisted tree with the azure waters of the Mediterranean and that little island in the background.
Just a lovely little tableau that really gets the relaxed Cretan vibe across nicely!
