I got a fresh view on a much loved and photographed North Wales icon in August of 2019, as my daughter Allie had bought my wife Liz and I tickets for a short cruise up the Conwy estuary.
The cruise started at Conway harbour and took us underneath the road and rail bridges across the estuary and past the famous castle.
So I got to see these amazing structures from a completely new angle and of course, I took full advantage of the photographic opportunities along the way.
This view takes in the imposing turrets of the castle and the extraordinary cast iron railway tunnel (for want of a better word), designed by Robert Stephenson back in 1849 and still going strong today, albeit with a bit of extra reinforcement.
So a big 'Thank You' to Allie for thinking of such a treat for her aging parents!
