This panoramic photo of Colwyn Bay at dusk was taken from the roof of the newly built watersports centre at Porth Eirias.
Very photogenic in itself, the centre is also proving to be a prime spot for photography, especially as you can walk on the roof and get an overlook along the North Wales coast in both directions.
I timed my visit to take this image carefully, knowing that the lights on the promenade and headland would show up very nicely during the ten minute dusk twilight window.
This is the short time period when the artificial lights are balanced in intensity with the remaining ambient daylight, and the orange sodium glow forms a constrasting colour composition with the blue light of the sky and sea.
Altogether a lovely lighting effect, but one that is very short lived.
