The promise of a full moon and clear skies had me up and out very early one morning in October, heading for the Loggerheads Country Park near my home in North Wales.
My plan was to climb the limestone escarpment at Loggerheads and to photograph the full moon setting over the summit of Moel Famau, the tallest peak in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Well my plan was good as far as it went, but unfortunately the weather forecast let me down and there was a blanket of thin cloud covering the sky and partially obscuring the moon when I arrived breathless at the top of the Loggerheads escarpment.
But I hadn't got out of bed super early and climbed this hill just to give up, so I quickly came up with a 'Plan B', which was to shoot off hundreds of frames in order to create my Clwydians Moonset Timelapse #1 video.
In the end that thin layer of cloud worked in my favour, as the cloud movement and the fact that the moon wasn't too bright resulted in quite a decent final video.
This particular image was selected from all those taken as having one of the more interesting cloud shape and light distribution effects.
