Clouds and Sun #5

The sun rim lighting a bank of cloud at sunset over the Conwy estuary, taken from the West Shore, Llandudno on the North Wales coast

The story behind this image

If I ever get bored with looking at the same old scenery laid out before me, then all I usually need to do is raise my gaze heavenwards and marvel at what's going on in the atmosphere.

This still image is just one culled from hundreds that I shot during a sunset from the West Shore at Llandudno on the North Wales coast.

I was shooting so many images in order to make a time lapse video (see it here), and I'm glad I did, because having so many images to choose from meant I could select this one, showing peak drama from the interplay of sun and cloud, to present as a stand-alone composition in its own right.

As I said, the sky provides me with an endless source of wonder and delight, and the occasional good photo as well!
