This apocalyptical scene was taken from the path leading to the summit of Moel Famau, my local hill near where I live in North Wales, overlooking the market town of Ruthin.
The sun had set about half an hour previously, and the sky just kept getting more and more threatening with dramatically lit storm clouds swirling menacingly over the valley.
Shortly after I took these two images the heavens opened above me and I had to scramble to get my camera gear safely back inside the LowePro before it got soaked.
Of course, I wasn't quite so well cared for and arrived back home shivering with cold and drenched to the skin, but elated at just being out in such dramatic weather.
A hot cup of coffee rounded of the evening nicely!
