Whenever my wife Liz and I visit our son and daughter-in-law who live in Limerick, Ireland, we always try and get a day out visiting the coast in that part of the world.
On this occasion we got as far as the Dingle peninsula in Kerry. What a location! Dramatic mountains sweeping down into the sea, storm battered cliffs, endless deserted beaches and weather.
You have to pick your time to visit after a careful study of the weather forecast, otherwise you could well be faced with nothing but grey cloud and rain from the weather systems that sweep in off the Atlantic ocean.
We timed this particular visit very well indeed, with blue skies punctuated by the odd fluffy cumulus cloud - perfect!
The shot was taken at the top of the Connor Pass, which is a fantastic stretch of road that cuts through the mountains that run the length of the peninsula.
I can't overstate the beauty of this part of the world, and would heartily recommend a visit once you've checked the weather forecast!
