Every now and then the atmospheric conditions over North Wales combine to produce something spectacular.
On this occasion, moist air coming in off the Irish Sea and then being forced to rise and cool over the Clwydian range of mountains just inland caused some interesting and beautiful lenticular clouds to form on the upwind slopes.
The show lased a few hours, and was enjoyed by many, if posts on Facebook are anything to go by.
