To the west of the Clwydian range of peaks in North Wales lies the fertile Vale of Clwyd.
There are a few rural villages dotted thoughout this landscape. Typically a pub, church and a few farms and cottages.
This is the village church at Llanbedr DC, photographed in the golden glow of a late afternoon sun.
Normally when photographing a scene with such bright clouds I would use a graduated filter to reduce the brightness of the sky, but in this case the use of such a filter wasn't possible as it would also have unnaturally darkened the church spire and tree.
So I have to use three separate exposures for this scene, blending them together using the exposure fusion function in the Photomatix Pro software package to achieve the desired result, which is pretty much how the scene looked to my naked eyes.
