The sun was on the cusp of setting as my wife Liz and I made our way up to this curious little faux castle on a hill in Cuitadella on the Balleric Island of Menorca.
Normally I wouldn't have bothered photographing such an obviously cheesy monument, but the light was so nice and the colour of the turret so yellow against the deep blue sky that I relented and took this semi-abstract image of just part of the turret set against the clear sky.
Fuji Velvia transparency film and a polarising filter really helped the turret stand out, and the resulting final image wasn't so bad after all!
