Sometimes abstract images of details like this give more scope for artistic interpretation than straight landscape shots, where I don't want to stray too far from reality during post processing.
Not so with this image of a spoked truck wheel. (How often do you see one of those)? For this picture I was able to push and pull the contrast, colours and sharpening until the final rendition gave the sufficiently moody feel that I was after.
Digital is great. I can have great fun and enjoyment both at the taking phase of the photo, and in subsequent processing on the computer, where I can add something of myself and my emotions to the image beyond what I could ever accomplish with film. I love it!
