With the colours of autumn rich and vibrant in the soft, shadowless light of an overcast day, the scenery around Capel Curig in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales was slowly winding down from its summer peak just a few scant weeks ago and was heading towards the long sleep of winter.
My wife Liz and I were taking advantage of a short break in the near constant rain that marked October 2019 as one of the wettest in recent times to get out and about for some much needed fresh air and exercise.
We chose the area around Betws-y-Coed in Snowdonia for our trip out, hoping to see some of the gorgeous autumnal colours for which this area is justly famous.
Our drive took us through Capel Curig, where we stopped to check out the views over the Afon Llugwy river near the Moel Siabod Café.(Very handy for a warming cup of coffee plus scone after a chilly and damp photoshoot!)
The Afon LLugwy river, surrounded by trees still carrying most of their autumn finery, looked very full and fast moving below the footbridge on which we were standing while I took numerous photographs and video clips of the beautiful water patterns and colours on display.
But it soon started to rain again in earnest, so it was back to the car and onto our next destination on the North Wales coast, hoping for better weather away from the mountains.

Filters - Polarising filter used to reduce glare, enhance colours and increase exposure time.

Comments - Small aperture and polarising filter used to increase exposure time which allowed the flowing water to blur somewhat.
