An iconic view of Montmartre. This, of course, is the Place du Tertre, with Sacre Coeur in the background.
It's still raining and Liz is wondering why we're out in this photographing rather than sitting in a bistro somewhere. Especially as I need our only umbrella to keep the rain of my camera!
Seriously though, rain and night time city photography go hand in hand. The wet pavements and cobblestones turn into wonderful reflectors when wet, add a dose of street lighting and the scene comes alive with vibrant colour.
However, in this case I converted to black and white with a hint of sepia, as I wanted to convey the 'olde worlde' feeling that this part of Paris just oozes.
