Wow - what a place! This is the jaw dropping bridge in the town of Ronda, Spain.
My wife Liz and I were on the final days of our holiday and we'd been meaning to visit Ronda having read about it in our guide book.
So, leaving our daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren playing in the pool where we were staying, we set off to drive to Ronda.
This was, without a doubt, the best place we visited during our Spanish holiday. Even the drive from Marbella to Ronda was a spectacular treat, winding through mountains on a wonderfully smooth new road.
Ronda itself was a delight to walk around, and seemed relatively unspoilt despite being very popular with tourists.
Once we'd eaten, and dusk was beginning to fall, I made the effort to climb down a multitude of steps to this vantage point below the fantastic bridge so I could photograph it in the best light, with enough afterglow in the sky to balance the floodlit architecture.
I took about thirty shots of this and similar compositions as the light changed, and this final image is a blend of differently exposed raw files to achieve the tonality that I wanted to convey.
I only stopped shooting when inch long ants started marching over my bare toes! There's a limit to even my dedication!
