Holidays are great, especially when you're on a beach on a lovely warm day with grandchildren to play with!
However, with the blazing sun directly overhead you can forget about photographing atmospheric landscapes in subtle lighting. This is a time for holiday snapshots.
When I'm taking snapshots of family and friends I always try and do a good job, as you never know when you might capture that magic moment that lifts an image to a higher level, and conveys a meaning beyond just what was happening at the time.
To me, this picture of one of my grandsons speaks of the joy and fullness of life that should be a fundamental part of childhood, but sadly, too often is crushed out of children at an early age.
And what of the big kid? Well shortly after taking this series of photos I put down the camera and dived in as well!
