A lovely autumn day spent exploring in the Snowdonia National Park took Liz and I through Betws-y-Coed on our way to Capel Curig and the high peaks of the Glyderau for a spot of hiking.
But we couldn't pass through Betws-y-Coed without a short diversion along the banks of the river Conwy, past the turning for Fairy Glen, and onto this lovely stretch of the river, featuring this old stone bridge.
I've been here before, and a little local knowledge definitely paid off with the trees and shrubs on the riverbank displaying their autumn finery.
Footing on the water smoothed slickrock was treacherous as I made my way gingerly to get as close to this particular red leaved plant as possible.
It's quite nerve wracking negotiating this sort of terrain with a couple of grand's worth of camera equipment strapped to your back!
But once in position I was able to enjoy and photograph this lovely view, using my polarising filter to kill glare and allow those lovely seasonal colours to shine through.
A very careful trek back to the riverside path ensued, and we were soon on our way again to sample more of the delights on offer in this most beautiful part of the world.
