Beach and jellyfish #1

Beach and jellyfish, Barafundle Bay, Pembrokeshire

The story behind this image

For landscape photographers, amateur or pro, the hunt for interesting objects to place in the foreground of an image is never-ending.

This dead jellyfish is maybe pushing the concept a bit far though!

This is the beautiful Barafundle Bay on the Pembroke coast in South Wales, and believe it or not, this is a very carefully composed image, with the jellyfish at the 'golden mean' position in the bottom right hand corner. The horizon is near the top, reducing the amount of cloudless sky to the minimum required to frame the headland in the background, and there's a lovely diagonal line of surf leading the eye through the composition.

I wish I was back there in the sun and warmth - it was -10 degrees C this morning as I went to work.
