This is Happy Beach (great name!) on the Costa del Sol, close to Marbella in Spain.
During the day this beach is crowded with holiday makers, but as the sun sinks towards the western horizon the holiday makers clear off and leave the place to local strollers and photographers like me.
On this occasion there was a stiff onshore breeze which was filling the air with sea spray and making a great scene as the sun set into the haze.
I took dozens of photos that evening, in between wiping spray off my ND grad filter, but this one, with the solitary figure emerging from the haze, was the most evocative, encapsulating the atmosphere of calm with a hint of mystery which was how this scene came across to me at the time.
