A gloomy day in North Lancashire at the start of a week's long holiday in the Lake District for Liz and myself.
We'd decided to visit Carnforth to have a look at the famous 'Brief Encounter' railway station. A pretty soggy affair on the day but very pleasant nonetheless.
On the way back up north to the Lake District we made a diversion to Silverdale to have a look at Morecambe Bay at sunset, in the hope that the sun might put in an appearance right at the end of the day.
Well it didn't, but the lighting and clouds over the bay were quite atmospheric, and sort of summed up the subdued nature of the weather and the location.
What the Irish would call a 'soft' day.
