I love photographing dramatic weather conditions, and the beach at Talacre on the North Wales coast is a great location for cloud spotting.
On this particular occasion the cloud shapes and patterns of light and dark were so dramatic that I made the sky the whole emphasis of the photo, with the beach forming just a small border at the bottom of the shot.
By the way, that glistening surface that was reflecting the drama of the sky above wasn't sand, but thick, gloopy estuary mud into which I and my tripod were slowly sinking.
Disgusting I know, but worth putting up with to get a shot like this.
