These cliffs on the beach at Ballybunion just ooze colour and texture as they rise dramatically straight up from the sandy beach.
The west coast of Ireland is a visual wonderland of soaring cliffs and storm tossed seas. However, most of the time you can't actually see any of it as cloud rolls in relentlessly from the Atlantic ocean.
This was one of the few bright and warm days we had during our stay, and I had to wait for a bit of haze to soften the light before taking this photo so the colours would be saturated and the shadows not blocked up. A polarising filter helped take the glare off the rocks and allowed the fantastic colours to be seen in all their glory.
