One of the loveliest places that Liz and I visited during our week long stay on the southwest Atlantic coast of Ireland was Ardmore.
We came here twice, with the first visit being spent sat firmly in the car as four seasons' worth of weather arrived in the space of half an hour.
You can watch this amazing weather on my time lapse video looking over Ardmore beach to get some idea of why we didn't venture out!
However, with an improvement in the weather we made a second effort to explore this seaside town, under much more pleasureable, if less dramatic, conditions.
Towards the end of our visit to Ardmore we trekked up to the ancient churchyard of St Declan, with its famous round tower, which I spent quite some time photographing from various angles.
But I was also very taken with this view, looking out over the ancient graves and headstones to the bay and beach of Ardmore beyond.
What a lovely setting!
