Penmon Point on the North Wales coast at the southeastern tip of the beautiful Isle of Anglesey is surely one of the most striking and ethereal places on earth.
Especially at dawn, very early on a summer's morning with the sky to the east just catching the warm, faint colours of sunlight, beaming upwards from just below the far horizon.
With a handily placed but very worn concrete path leading the eye past seaweed encrusted rocks to the iconic Penmon Point lighthouse just offshore, and the gently undulating waters rendered to a smooth sheen by a long 15 second exposure, the scene takes on a distinct other-worldly atmosphere.
Which is quite in keeping with how it feels to actually be here, all on my own with just the sounds of the sea, the mournful cry of the gulls and the doleful sound of the fog warning bell echoing over the sea every half minute or so to keep me company.
The chance to photograph such loveliness is just the icing on the cake really!
