A couple of weeks of solid rain in late spring 2019 left the reservoirs of North Wales full to bursting.
An ideal opportunity then for a quick trip to Alwen Reservoir, up on the Denbigh Moors, to see how high the water level had got.
As my wife Liz and I drove down the potholed track to the small car park next to the massive concrete and blockwork dam we could see the water level was as high as it could be, with the overflow cascading down the face of the dam into the river below.
Quite an impressive sight, and well worth getting out in the rain to shoot some video and still images to mark this rare event.

Exposure - 1/60 sec @ f14, ISO100
Filters - Polarising filter used to reduce glare and enhance colours. 2 stop neutral density graduated filter used to reduce the brightness of the sky.
Location - Alwen Reservoir, North Wales
Image enhancements - Adobe Lightroom
Comments - Tripod, remote release and mirror lockup used to prevent camera shake.
