The somewhat brutal architecture of the dam at the eastern end of the Alwen reservoir in North Wales is softened by the warm, directional light of the setting sun as my wife Liz and I sit enjoying the view and the warmth of the late spring evening.
A couple of miles from the nearest road, the only sound we can hear is the singing of the birds in the woodlands that surround the lake as the breeze drops at the end of the day.
As we sit and watch the surface of the waters grows still, allowing the golden stone of the dam's central tower to gently reflect, contrasting beautifully against the blue of the mirrored sky.
This is a time, to think, to breathe, to pray and, of course, to capture the moment as a memory, saved on the circuitry of an SD card.
