A rare cloudless evening in North Wales found my wife Liz and I enjoying a stroll along the paths surrounding the Alwen Reservoir, just as the sun was setting.
The reservoir is oriented pretty much east to west, so on our way back to the car park we stopped at the eastern end for a while to watch the twilight develop over the far end of the lake.
In the clean, fresh welsh air we watched entranced as the last of the light at the horizon glowed vivid orange for a few minutes, contrasting beautifully with the gradations of blue in the higher reaches of the sky before finally fading into night.
We finally made our back to the car for the hour long drive home, refreshed in mind and soul and feeling very priviledged for having been able to enjoy such beauty.
